The Subaru XV Crosstrek has always intrigued me in many ways.  When I think of Crosstreks, I think of Alex’s.  An overland-type vehicle to go exploring in, and an ultimate adventure kind of machine that still gets the gas mileage of the FB20 Boxer engine.  I saw Alex’s Venetian Red Pearl Crosstrek posted up behind the sunset on Instagram for the first time a month or two ago, making me wish I lived somewhere in the desert.

Alex purchased his Subaru just over two years ago with the intent for trailing and road trips.  He says, “I happened to come across the Crosstrek and fell in love.”  Alex’s favorite thing about the car is Subaru’s famous All Wheel Drive system – necessary when exploring the Nevada desert terrain.  Alex has done a tasteful, yet useful amount of modifications, making the car more than capable for what he throws at it.

He started with the Method MR502 wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolander All-Terrains, which is a must in the off-road Crosstrek world.  Alex has also added an HPS cold air intake, some light bars, and a Rhino Rack X-Tray to carry all of the necessities when going on all-day excursions.  Alex says a two-inch lift “is definitely next” in the future.  To see more of Alex’s desert-roaming Crosstrek, check him out on Instagram at @rubythesubie for more of this eye candy.  Thanks again to Alex for letting us feature you as our Driver of the Day!
